First grade christmas

Some photos of my first grader on his last day of school of 2012. They had an all day read-in and watched home alone after lunch and had hot chocolate in self decorated mugs.

This was the day 20 other families lost their first graders in a horrible tragedy on the other side of the country. It's been an emotional roller coaster even with trying to avoid the tv media.

My heart breaks each day thinking of those twenty families not getting to do what I get to do each day- hold my child and tuck him each night.

I've seen some serious strength and courage from the victims and it is definitely inspiring. I've been so moved by it all. It's so hard to even put half of what I'm feeling into words.
